Polymer & Colloid Chemistry, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
How do you make the plastic of an artificial hip joint capable of withstanding the stresses of everyday life? What composite materials are used to advance aerospace? Can the performance of environmentally friendly paints be improved? How must plastics be structured to avoid ending up as microplastics? Polymer and colloid chemistry continues to successfully meet new, exciting challenges, and is of great importance to industry and the economy. That is why the University of Bayreuth has set up a degree programme that is unique in Germany: Polymer & Colloid Chemistry. The degree programme trains students for careers in areas of highly innovative research and development. After a standard period of study of six semesters, students in Bayreuth graduate with the internationally recognised Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) degree.
