Theatre & Media, Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
The bachelor's programme "Theatre & Media Studies" brings together two disciplines whose lines of research often intersect. The reflective acquisition of basic theoretical and historical knowledge, and its analysis and interpretation, is complemented by application-oriented study elements in which vocational skills and fields of application are analysed and conceptually prepared. The choice of a minor makes it possible to set various focuses with regard to the professional field students are seeking to enter, or with a a view to continuing one’s studies in master's programmes, in particular at the University of Bayreuth.
During my bachelor studies in Bayreuth, I was able to gain valuable theoretical and practical experience in the field of theatre and media. Thanks to a very creative and inspiring group of fellow students, exciting projects emerged during the six semesters of study, some of which were successful beyond the borders of Bayreuth, for example at festivals. I worked as a short film producer, participated in a theatre and musical production, and organized an unplugged concert as my final project. My studies always encouraged me to confidently try out the principle of 'learning by doing' in a team, and we students were always assured of help from our professors and lecturers!
