Binding rules for visiting the campus and branch offices

  • Given falling coronavirus infection rates, the University Governing Board has decided that the following regulation on compulsory masks will apply from Monday, 24 May 2021: Masks are compulsory on the campus of the University of Bayreuth and its satellite campuses. The obligation to wear masks also applies while working at a fixed (work) place. Persons who are alone in a room or who are outdoors alone (i.e. on the move) are exempt. This applies both to University employees and external visitors Other occupational health and safety regulations (e.g. in laboratories) remain unaffected.

  • Wherever possible, maintain the recommended minimum distance of 1.5 metres to other people.

  • Wash your hands regularly. Soap, disposable towels, and disinfectants (as an accompanying measure) will be provided in sufficient quantities.

  • Cough and sneeze only into the crook of your arm.

  • Avoid physical contact and the shared use of objects.

  • If possible, refrain from using lifts. If you are dependent on lifts for health reasons, use them one person at a time.

  • Make sure to air all rooms you use that do not have a ventilation system installed. Airing should be carried out every 45 minutes for about 5 minutes. Airing by tilting the windows is not sufficient. In meeting rooms, tighter occupancy can be assumed, meaning that airing should take place every 20 minutes.

  • Make sure that you can fulfil your obligation to actively participate in the collection of contact data. Contact data collection is a necessary prerequisite for participation in teaching, examination, and other face-to-face events, the use of study rooms, the reservation of sports equipment, and the dining areas in the catering facilities of Studentenwerk Oberfranken. Further information on contact data recording can be found in the "Coronavirus Handbook” under 3.2.1.

  • If possible, do not come on campus untested if you have knowingly had contact with a person who has COVID-19 or a person classified as a Category I contact by the Health Department.

  • Do not come on campus if you yourself exhibit symptoms that may be indicative of COVID-19 illness, such as respiratory symptoms (e.g. difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, a cough), non-specific general symptoms (e.g. fever, headache, aching limbs, sore throat, or diarrhoea), or olfactory or gustatory symptoms, unless you can produce a negative test for SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus no more than 48 hours old upon request. A so-called antibody test will not suffice.

  • Do not come on campus if you are required to quarantine at home.
