That is exactly what we want to support through the Deutschlandstipendium. For us, support means more than financial assistance. It is about trust, appreciation, and opening up new perspectives. For us, the Deutschlandstipendium is a valuable opportunity to get to know talented young people, support them along the way, and help shape the future together.
This scholarship is an excellent fit with the charitable mission of our Lions Hilfswerk Bayreuth-Kulmbach association. It allows us to help young people move forward on their academic and professional path even more effectively and quickly. Our regular exchange with the scholarship recipients is highly rewarding and reinforces our belief that, at Lions, these scholarships should be seen as a long-term commitment to supporting young people and education — and, in this context, to supporting outstanding students in particular. Because we are active in both Bayreuth and Kulmbach, it is important to us to support one scholarship at each university location.
The timely and coherent reaction to demographic change has become a success factor for staffing policy in the enterprise. The looming skills shortage - heightened by the shift of the population to large cities – is one of these challenges. The Deutschlandstipendium in cooperation with the University of Bayreuth offers us the opportunity to support young, dedicated talent and future professionals, and win them for the region. At the same time, we are able to meet students early on in their career, and inspire them to join our enterprise.

The Rainer Markgraf Foundation supports education, science, and research at universities and higher education institutions in Upper Franconia and the Upper Palatinate. At the University of Bayreuth, we do this not only through our projects, but also very specifically through our commitment to the Deutschlandstipendium. With our five scholarships, we are able to help students succeed in their studies.
If you deliver products worldwide of the highest technical standard, conducting mass production based on complex processes, you need a highly-qualified team. An intensive working relationship has meanwhile been built up between Schlaeger M-Tech and the young technical faculties and institutes in the Bayreuth area. For many years, students have been able to experience the ingenuity, efficiency-mindedness and passion for technology of our company, and to contribute their own creativity. By supporting two scholarships, we have in place another important element in our training strategy, and are pleased to be able to pass on some of the “mind-set of the SME.
