University of Bayreuth, Press Release No. 005/2021 - 13.12.2021

Bayreuth’s Campus Academy awarded

Once again, FOCUS business magazine has listed the University of Bayreuth and its Campus Academy as a top university with a centre for continuing education. This makes it one of the most highly recommended continuing education providers in Germany in 2022.

FOCUS business magazine evaluated a total of 20,000 providers of continuing education in all areas for the award, and found that the Campus Academy of the University of Bayreuth makes it one of the top universities with a continuing education centre. Criteria such as the reputation of the provider, its name recognition, relevance to students, and internationality were decisive for the evaluation.

Providers who received an above-average frequency of positive evaluations were honoured in this comprehensive analysis. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dieter Brüggemann, Director of the Campus Academy, is pleased with this outstanding evaluation: "The award shows us that we are working successfully in line with the goals of the University as a whole, and that the participants perceive this as such. Especially now, it is important to respond to people's needs by specifically developing our content and also offering new teaching formats. For example, in addition to classic face-to-face instruction, we are increasingly offering hybrid or purely online classes. We don't just follow change, we help shape it." Further information on the award can be found in the regular FOCUS magazine, issue 43/21.

Despite the difficult coronavirus situation, the Campus Academy was once again able to offer its continuing education programmes to many students and participants by switching to a digital programme and holding in-person classes in the summer. The certificate courses "Sustainability Management", "Land Saving Community Development", and "Video in Social Media Marketing" were completely booked out. The "MBA Health Care Management" and "MBA Sport Management" courses were also in high demand.

The two-day "Forum Forest Controversies", which had a steadily growing audience in previous years, had to be postponed again and will be held in autumn 2022 with the title " Wood as source of hope".

In addition, the knowledge transfer projects "Efficient & Sustainable Production", "Resource Conservation through Data Science & Digitalisation for SMEs" and "Crisis Management & Transformation for SMEs" are set to be launched next year. All three projects are funded by the European Social Fund and organised by the Campus Academy in cooperation with the Environmentally Sound Production Technology and the Strategic Management & Organisation research groups at the University of Bayreuth.
